What we do

RogueSheep provides consulting, integration and custom development services to a variety of enterprise clients as well as other software vendors. Our work is primarily focused on solutions in the graphics and publishing markets, with a particular expertise in custom development for the Adobe InDesign and Creative Suite family of products. In addition to custom projects for clients, we also develop our own commercial products and technology solutions for our target market.

What we need

More than a specific set of skills, RogueSheep is looking for someone with the right convictions and personality to match with our tightly knit, if quirky team. We need someone that is versatile and willing to learn new skills in old technology and to remap old skills into new technology. You must be comfortable working within a small team in a young company. Self-motivation and a willingness to change focus to new projects as needed are vital to success here.

More than anything else, we need team members who are focused on the end-user experience and who take great pride in their work. If you agonize over the best user interface for a particular feature, wrestle with the proper way to name your classes and functions, or perhaps even think ahead to the next person that will be maintaining the piece of code you are crafting now you'll find compatriots in our flock. If your greatest joy is hearing the praise of just one client's heartfelt appreciation for your work, we want to talk to you. At RogueSheep our greatest moments of pride stem from the regular admiration of our partners and their willingness to repeatedly renew our working relationship.

Our core work revolves around custom development for Adobe InDesign and InCopy, the remaining Creative Suite applications and occasionally Quark XPress. The majority of our custom solutions tend to be developed for the Macintosh, but we still do plenty of cross-platform work and even occasionally tackle Windows-only projects. Our current openings are all at our Seattle based headquarters.

What we offer

RogueSheep offers competitive salaries, commensurate with experience, as well as a company-wide profit sharing program. We have full health benefits and an innovative free-time plan allowing for on-the-clock pursuit of personal development interests.

Because the majority of our work is based around consulting and integration, our revenue is highly dependent on the particular projects we have booked at any one time. We tend to pay a little below the industry average for salary, but compensate with a generous profit sharing program for all employees when the prospects are good.

We don't have company chefs, or on-site massage, but we do offer a casual work place and regular company outings and celebrations. We attend relevant technical conferences and believe in making sure you have all the tools necessary to do your job.
